National Arts Council Apprenticeship Programme

Mentor – Kelley Cheng (Owner of The Press Room)
Duration – Oct ’10 to Jan ‘11

Process/Learning Outcome:

Working with Kelley, she opened up plenty of opportunities for me. I did a collaboration with another apprentice who was in the same program, we came up with a publication that was exhibited during the Noise Festival 2011. As the editor-in-chief of the Singapore Architects magazine and also the development team for the i-light event 2010, she gave us the opportunity to liaise with the artists, interviewing them with a question and answer session through email. Everything was then published into the #260 issue of Singapore Architects magazine in Jan ’11. We were given the entire section covering the i-light event in the magazine, we were halfway through the process, from the photo shoots to layout, test prints and all. Though it didn’t pull through due to time constraints, it was still good exposure.
